“ITESOFT is the best solution for automatic processing of incoming mail” - PENTADOC Radar 2010 comparative test

Press Release - 9 February 2010

PENTADOC AG, respected international analyst in the document capture sector, has declared ITESOFT as the winner of its comparison test. ITESOFT’s test results were better than all other results of the 2008/2009 benchmark where competing solutions, including EMC-Captiva, Insiders, Kofax and TiS participated.

An expert in the digital mailroom field, PENTADOC AG has provided consultancy services for companies in the German market for the last twelve years. PENTADOC is positioned as a privileged market observer and globally considered as the most advanced in terms of automatic document processing.

In order to help demanding companies make informed choices, every year PENTADOC experts complete their analytical work by evaluating market solutions in their Munich laboratory. Each solution's performance is rigorously quantified under production conditions during a unique and intensive comparative test procedure. Tests are carried out in real-time, using several thousand documents from previously unseen client workflows, covering an extensive range of document types

Because PENTADOC's scientific method exposes the true production performance of each system, the PENTADOC Radar report has become the worldwide reference in the industry In the current benchmark ITESOFT´s solution has been compared to the latest results of the competing solutions:

• Input Accel and Dispatcher V5.3 from EMC Deutschland GmbH,
• Insiders smartFIX SUITE 4.0 from Gaa GmbH,
• Kofax Capture 8.0 (KC8) and Kofax Transformation Modules 3.5 (KTM 3.5) from Kofax Deutschland AG,
• eFLOW4 from Top Image Systems Deutschland GmbH.

ITESOFT participated with the solutions:
• ITESOFT.FreeMind Enterprise V2.4 and ITESOFT.FreeMind for Business V2.4 from ITESOFT GmbH.

ITESOFT sets the new market milestone: a success rate of 97.98% for automatic sorting, the highest rate ever achieved.

The cost of searching for documents within companies is colossal: Up to 40% of staff work-time* may be spent on document searches. In any company, the response time, productivity and service quality of every department depends on the reliability and distribution of mail, especially in customer-oriented services.

The automation rate for identifying document types (referred to as classification or sorting) and extracting the indexes that characterise a given document (referred to as reading or indexing) are in fact critical criterion for optimising digital mailrooms.

“This is the first time that ITESOFT has participated in this evaluation and ITESOFT has been ranked first on both quantitative comparison factors: automatic sorting and indexation. This performance is all the more remarkable because last year we thought we had reached the limits of these technologies," says Guido Schmitz, board member of PENTADOC AG.

Technological performance means direct financial benefits for users

Companies implementing digital mailrooms can measure the true value of their solutions by examining the cost of manual operations that still remain after the automation phase, i.e. by analysing the volume of documents that still need to be processed manually.

The difference in performance between ITESOFT and the other competitors is such that the cost of sorting documents manually, for example, is up to ten times lower using ITESOFT solutions than the others: 2.02% of documents to be classified manually with ITESOFT, compared to 20.03%.

“The clients, prospects and partners that I meet regularly all focus their attention on optimising incoming mail processing, as soon as the mail arrives. This leads to immediate improvements in productivity that are then carried over to all subsequent business processes within the company,” says Philippe Lijour, CEO of ITESOFT Group. “The results of the PENTADOC RADAR 2010 benchmark prove the power of ITESOFT's automatic document sorting and reading technologies, as well as the resulting economic value achieved for users.”
